Description
This full-day tour departs from Barcelona to visit Besalú, a town renowned for its medieval architecture and historic significance. Besalú features the Old Bridge, originally built in the 11th century, reconstructed in the 14th century, and restored after the Spanish Civil War. The bridge includes two angled sections and a central tower with a small arch.
While exploring Besalú’s medieval streets, you will visit notable ecclesiastical monuments such as the churches of Sant Pere, Santa María, and Sant Vicenç, which showcase Romanesque and Gothic styles. The well-preserved Jewish Quarter in Besalú is one of the Iberian Peninsula’s most intact historical areas.
The next stop is the Dalí Museum in Figueres, designed by Salvador Dalí himself. The museum’s striking façade and eclectic installations provide insight into Dalí’s surrealist world. You will view a collection of his paintings, sculptures, and art installations that go beyond traditional museum exhibitions.
The tour includes a lunch break with options ranging from an authentic Mediterranean restaurant to a traditional Spanish tapas venue, located approximately 15 minutes from Figueres.
In the afternoon, visit a winery in the l'Empordà region, known for its Denomination of Origin wines and a landscape rich in viticulture traditions blended with modern techniques.
