Costa Brava Train

On December 2010 the high speed train line (AVE), connecting Figueres with Perpignan, was inaugurated. This means that it now takes just 5 hours to reach Paris from the  by train.

Due to its geographical characteristics, the rugged Costa Brava coastline does not have any train connection, except to Llançà. However, this is compensated by a reliable network of bus routes to take you wherever you want.

There is regional train connection between Barcelona, GironaFigueres, etc..., which is the line R11, which ends at the French border.

Many years ago there was a train route between Olot and Girona. Now the old train tracks have been transformed into bike paths for pedestrian or bike use and are called greenways or "vies verdes".

Connections by high speed line to Girona and Barcelona city are functioning since 2012. Both cities are also connected by regional train services operated by RENFE.
