Best Tapas Restaurants in Costa Brava

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Costa Brava team

Everybody has heard of tapas, it’s not a main course or a dessert but after having tasted a few you’ll be as full as if you’d eaten a full course lunch or dinner.

The origin of the tapas was to “tapar” (cover) ones glass to prevent flies from falling into the drink. Nowadays, any little tasty snack can be a tapas: cheese, ham, olives, squid, patatas bravas. Tapas are ideally accompanied by a drink such as wine, a sherry (typical in Andalusia) or a glass of cava (more of a Catalan custom).
