Top Rated - Accommodation in Costa Brava

If you’re looking for accommodation in Costa Brava that actually lives up to the hype, pay attention to the scores real travellers leave behind. This list highlights spots that consistently earn strong ratings from plenty of visitors, not just one or two lucky five-star shoutouts. Reviews come from people who’ve stayed, dealt with the staff, and experienced the neighbourhood – that’s what counts here.

Whether you’re heading to a quiet beach town like Llafranc in late spring or the heart of Girona during the summer festival season, these highly rated options have proven they deliver. One tip: Don’t overlook places a little inland near towns like Pals where the atmosphere can be calmer and reviews consistently mention genuine hospitality and cleanliness. It’s those steady, reliable experiences that make a stay genuinely enjoyable in the Costa Brava.

Local stay tips

When choosing top rated accommodation in Costa Brava, consider booking outside the peak July and August months if you want the best rates and a more relaxed atmosphere. Reviews often highlight places near but not directly on the busiest beaches as the best balance – you get easy access to the coast while enjoying quieter evenings and friendlier prices. For example, staying a few kilometres inland from the coast near a village like Begur or Pals often means calmer surroundings and solid guest experiences year after year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about top rated accommodation in Costa Brava.

Look for accommodations with a high number of detailed reviews from real guests rather than just a few perfect scores. Consistency across seasons and multiple platforms usually indicates trustworthiness.

Not necessarily. Many spots with great reviews offer good value, especially if you book outside peak summer months or slightly away from the main seaside towns.

Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell, and parts of Girona around the old town get a lot of praise. Inland villages like Pals also receive consistently great guest ratings.

Yes, there are several well-rated options catering to families, particularly in quieter areas where reviews mention space, facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere for children.

Ratings are a great starting point but read the actual guest comments. Pay attention to recent reviews for updates on service or cleanliness, and consider what’s most important for your trip.

Both have their perks. Coastal towns like Tossa de Mar offer seafront charm, while staying in Girona or nearby villages gives you a more laid-back experience with great food and culture. Look at reviews to see which fits your vibe.
