Description

DAY 1: BARCELONA - MEDIEVAL VILLAGES -COSTA BRAVA - CADAQUES Departure from Barcelona early in the morning to the north of Catalonia, following the famous Costa Brava, starting our tour in Tossa de Mar, known for its impressive medieval castle and beautiful beaches. We will start our tour in Tossa de Mar, known for its impressive medieval castle and beautiful beaches, we will visit the Vila Vella, the old walled old town, and stroll through its cobblestone streets. We will continue our route to the village of Pals and Peratallada, famous for its well-preserved old town, with medieval architecture, and walk through the historic center, up to the Torre de las Horas, with panoramic views. Nearby, we find the village of Begur with its famous medieval castle and its hidden coves. Time for lunch. To stretch our legs we will take a short walk along the famous Camino de Ronda, a paved path, which runs along the exceptional nearby coves such as Sa Riera or Aiguablava. In the afternoon, one of the most beautiful villages of Spain, and of course of the Costa Brava, awaits us. Embedded in a rocky bay of difficult access, we arrive in Cadaqués, with labyrinthine streets all pedestrian, with its stories of pirates. There we will have free time to stroll and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere in all its splendor. At the end of the day, we will depart to the city of Rosas, where we will stay. DAY 2: DALI (Fiqueres) - BESALU - GIRONA Early in the morning visit to the Salvador Dalí Theater-Museum, which houses a collection of works donated by Dalí himself, famous Spanish artist, with more than 1 million visitors a year. We leave Figueres towards Besalu, where we will have a walk on the Old Bridge of Besalu, it is said that its construction was in the eleventh century on a Roman bridge, but in reality it was rebuilt in the fourteenth century. But in the destruction it suffered in the civil war it was rebuilt again. It has two angled spans and in the center area is the tower with a small arch. Visit the center of the city, with streets and facades as part of its medieval heritage. On this tour we will visit the ecclesiastical monuments of the town, such as the churches of Sant Pere, Santa Maria and Sant Vicenç, which are composed of both Romanesque and Gothic elements. In the Jewish quarter we can visit some medieval baths, dedicated to the Hebrew ritual ablutions. For lunch, we will go to the city of Girona, a romantic city, with plenty of places to visit. In Girona we will have the opportunity to see, among others, some of the scenes of Game of Thrones, right on the steps of the cathedral. Continuing with our Jewish history, we will visit the Synagogue of this city, in a very good state of preservation. We will also visit the Eiffel Bridge, built at the meeting of 4 rivers, or the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Girona, with the largest altar of all European Gothic art. Finally we return to the city of Girona.
